Seasonal decorations

If you don’t have a specific theme, but you do want to make something special of your event decorations, here’s a solution for you. Think about when you’re throwing – or want to throw – the event, and use the season the date is in to accentuate in your decorations.

Winter Wonderland

For this decoration you mostly work with colours and props. The things you directly think about when you hear “winter wonderland” is white, cold blue and snowflakes and ice for props.

Spring Fling

Since spring is the season of flowers, it’s very logic that you definitely incorporate them into your decor. You can make colourful centrepieces or other decoration objects with flowers. The colours that say spring and are very fun to use are: green, light purple, light pink and light blue. So: keep it light but still colourful. This is also the season where you can start throwing outside parties if you like.

Summer Fever

Summer means sunlight combined with an oasis of bright colours, for example bright yellow, red and bright blue. There’s no doubt that in this season, it’s almost impossible not to host a party outside. The things I like most in summer are picnics and beach parties, so there are a lot of ways to go with that.

Autumnal Accents

Autumn is the season of a brown colorrange, pumpkins and wood. For this season I’m more a fan of subtle accents in the decorations instead of a completely implemented autumn theme. It’s nice to just use centrepieces and small wall decorations. Wood combined with pumpkins look very attractive as centrepieces. For wall decorations you can make a sort of collage with autumn leaves and brown tints.

A seasonal decoration theme is a good way to keep it simple but still looks awesome.

Hawaii party decorations

It’s summer, everyone’s on vacation, and the sun is shining. To most people this sounds like the perfect time to have a party. But what if the sun still doesn’t give you that perfect summer sensation? Well, just go for the full summer-experience Hawaii packet. Give your party a boost with an awesome Hawaiian theme. Sand, surfboards, palm trees, straw skirts, even get that old Hawaii shirt out of your closet you wore when you were in your twenties (but please, put it back in the closet when the party’s over).

So if you’re going through with this Hawaii themed party, you can’t miss the following decorations.
Straw and bamboo. Straw skirts, straw runners, straw hat, straw roof, … Everything you can make out of straw is good enough for your Hawaii party. Another material you can’t let out is bamboo. Go as crazy as you want, be creative and create something out of bamboo

Other things you’re going to need are flowers, the more colours you have the better. Try to create a real Hawaii experience, your attendants should have the feeling they’re in Hawaii. Give them a Hawaii experience. And maybe, if you’re crazy enough and really looking out for the perfect Hawaii party, throw one cubic meter of sand in your garden. That will definitely get you the price for Hawaii party of the year.

Fifties party decorations

Mostly, when people throw a party, they focus on a theme for the whole party. A popular theme today is “the fifties”. There are things of the theme hidden in every aspect of the party, for example and most prominent, the decorations.

Grease is the word

When you think of the fifties, you immediately think about “Grease”. Grease is a movie and musical about the fifties. They had a very distinctive style at that time. Not only shown in the clothing, but also in the environment. The style is very much about “rock ‘n roll”. How do you incorporate this in your event? Easy, put a black- and white-tiled floor on the ground and add some props in pink, blue and flames. Now you’re ready! Typical fifties props are for example old timer cars, milkshakes, jukeboxes or adjusted balloons.

Looking for something less extravagant?

If you want to throw a fifties-themed party, but you’re not a big fan about all the fuzz of the grease-/rock ‘n roll-style, you can just put very subtle decorations that connect with the fifties. Hang, for example, some records from the ceiling and add the other props – mentioned above – in a very subtle way.

There are a lot of ways to go with the decoration of your fifties-themed party. You can go crazy and make it look like you’re actually back in the fifties or you can subtly incorporate some elements in your decor.

eco-friendly decorations

Anno 2015 everybody starts to realize we have to live more eco-friendly. We have to cut down on waste, conserve resources and reuse or recycle. It’s a new trend coming up. And for who is being on track with the latest trends more important than an event organizer? Event organizers can see it as a challenge to step up their bit on this latest trend and organize an eco-friendly event. Let’s start with eco-friendly decorations to keep our carbon footprint in check. Here are some tips and tricks for a green and durable event.

Imageglow candles
Candles are one of the most common décor items, but they can also be among the most eco-unfriendly. They are mostly made with bleach and synthetic chemical fragrances and produce toxic soot when burned. Imageglow fabricates eco-friendly wax lanterns that come with different designs. When the pure candles melt down, the design is illuminated which gives beautiful effects.

ACME party box
ACME can provide you of napkins, runners or an entire turnkey eco-party. The company supplies themed party boxes, which include endurable made inventions, favors, compostable tableware and centerpieces. The linens are made with organic cotton and recycled materials. With a little bit of creativity you can make the most mind setting decors.
ACME table runner

Okay I admit, these product sometimes come with a price. But if you’re a hands on person, you can create something yourself. If you’re having a barbecue with friends. Try to reuse some old wooden pallets. If you’re a little handy you can create the greatest lounge for your guests in your garden.

Balloons

Is it your child’s birthday? Or his or hers christening? And you are organising a party to celebrate those events? Then I have an interesting tip for you! Use balloons, not in the traditional way, but on a new attractive way. How can you do this without using helium?

A first way is to make a balloon swing. You can attach the balloons to a rope and hang them in the air. Make sure that they don’t hang against a wall and also that there is a template in the colors and size of the balloons.

A second way is to make flowers from balloons. You just have to hang your balloons together in the form of a flower. Use different colors and hang them against a wall or a fence.

You can also gather the balloons and put them on a table, this is a real eye-catcher.

Another way to use balloons is to hang them against the wall. Just stick them randomly on the wall and enjoy the special effect.

A last way that I will mention is hanging the balloons from your ceiling. Use a rope to hang each balloon from your ceiling and don’t be afraid to use different colors.

Remember for your next party that you can use balloons in different manners and enjoy your party!
